Zach LaVine’s wife, Hunter, is speaking out against the female Sacramento Kings reporters caught speaking about her husband on a hot mic at the team’s media day.
The Kings held their annual media day on Monday, September 28, in advance of the 2026-27 NBA regular season, which starts next month. A clip went viral on social media, showing some female Kings reporters talking on a hot mic about LaVine and fellow Kings guard Ben Simmons.
One female reporter was heard saying: “That’s what comes with being Ben Simmons. He is cringe, cringe.” Simmons, a former No. 1 overall NBA Draft pick, has been out of the league for several years, due to inconsistent play, especially on offense.
Another jumped into the conversation to say he is “lucky he’s so fine.”
Later in the conversation, LaVine’s appearance came up.
“Hella fine,” one female said about LaVine.
“I think his personality annoys the [expletive] out of me, so that’s what makes him less fine,” another woman said. “Zach’s cute but his personality [expletive] annoys me. He just seems like hella like a (expletive). But he is beautiful.”

The female reporters in the conversation have not been publicly identified. LaVine’s wife, Hunter, does not appear to be happy, though.
The wife of the NBA star called out the female reporters for their conversation in a comment on Instagram.
