Aaron Judge missed his eighth straight game on Wednesday as the New York Yankees defeated the Cleveland Guardians 8-4. New York completed a three-game sweep over Cleveland.
Unfortunately for the Yankees, they won't be getting their three-time MVP back any time soon. Judge was placed on the 10-day injured list, retroactive to June 2, due to a stress fracture on the right side of his ribs. He is expected to miss four to six weeks, with a possible return in August, according to MLB.com.
Despite his absence, the team is staying afloat. In the eight games Judge has missed, the Yankees are 5-3 and on a four-game winning streak.

New York's win over Cleveland was a prime example of the team's offense putting up runs even without the seven-time All-Star. After the game, outfielder Trent Grisham spoke to reporters, making it clear the Yankees' goal is to remain the same while Judge works toward recovery.
“I think nothing changes for everybody in this building,” Grisham said. “We know how great of a player he is, we know what he means to this team and we know what he means to this clubhouse, but I think everybody talks about it on the outside, but on the inside, I mean it’s business as usual. Our job remains the same. We’re going out there to try and win every night.”
There's no doubt the Yankees want him back as soon as possible. In 59 games this season, he's accumulated 214 at-bats, 43 runs scored, 53 hits, 17 home runs, 38 RBIs and five stolen bases. He is also slashing .248/.375/.533 for a .908 OPS.
However, Grisham's sentiment reflects the mindset within New York's clubhouse. Even without Judge, the Yankees are focused on winning games and chasing a World Series. After their win over the Guardians, they are 41-26 and eight games ahead of a wild-card spot.
