The New York Yankees are beginning to unravel before the All-Star break. In their last 13 games, they've gone just 2-11 and have been swept by the Boston Red Sox (four games) and Detroit Tigers (three games).
It's had a major effect on their postseason standings. Now sitting at 50-42, the Yankees are five games back from the Tampa Bay Rays for the lead in the American League East. While the team searched for answers, frustrations are beginning to boil over.
While injuries to stars such as Aaron Judge, Max Fried and Carlos Rodon have played a big part in the slump, manager Aaron Boone has taken a bulk of the blame.

However, with the All-Star break approaching and the opportunity to reset, the Yankees' front office still has faith in their ninth-year manager. On Thursday, general manager Brian Cashman spoke to MLB.com's Bryan Hoch, praising Boone's work ethic.
"Nothing different than I've always seen," Cashman said. "I think he's a very hard worker, very well connected. I think he's prepared. I think he's pulling every lever he possibly can pull."
He also told Hoch that Boone "does a great job."
Since taking over as the Yankees' manager in 2018, Boone has led New York to seven postseason appearances and one World Series appearance in 2024. While they didn't win, it was their first appearance in the Fall Classic since winning it all in 2009.
With the All-Star break providing an opportunity for the Yankees to regroup, the focus will remain on whether or not they come back and turn things around. Despite their recent struggles, though, Cashman's comments don't suggest that a leadership change is being considered.
