The New York Yankees are set to get Jazz Chisholm Jr. back at an important point in the regular season.
Manager Aaron Boone said Chisholm is expected to be activated from the 10-day injured list between Tuesday’s doubleheader against the Tampa Bay Rays. Bryan Hoch of MLB.com reported the update on X.
Chisholm has been sidelined since suffering a thumb injury, but his return gives the Yankees another versatile option for the final stretch. The All-Star can provide defensive flexibility while adding another source of speed to the lineup.
The timing is especially notable with Aaron Judge dealing with a calf injury that is expected to keep him out of the upcoming Wild Card Series.
Chisholm has appeared in 134 games this season, hitting .232 with 19 home runs, 55 RBI and 40 stolen bases. His ability to play multiple positions gives Boone another option as he manages the Yankees’ lineup.
New York entered Tuesday with an 89-66 record and had already secured a postseason berth. The Yankees remain behind the Tampa Bay Rays in the AL East with the regular season approaching its final week.

Judge’s absence leaves a significant hole in the lineup, making Chisholm’s return particularly useful as New York prepares for October. Giancarlo Stanton also remains on the 60-day injured list after suffering a left calf strain during his rehab assignment.
For now, the Yankees are preparing to get Chisholm back between games of Tuesday’s doubleheader. His return gives Boone another healthy position player to work with as the club navigates the final days of the regular season.
