WWE is continuing to load up the first-ever Sunday Night’s Main Event, with a new wrinkle involving United States Champion Baron Corbin, Trick Williams and Atlanta’s own Lil Yachty added to the September 6 special.
The show already features Cody Rhodes vs. Randy Orton and Bron Breakker vs. Oba Femi, but increasingly, Paul Heyman could be the connective tissue between several of the night’s biggest stories.

Williams wants another opportunity at Corbin’s United States Championship, but he will have to rely on Lil Yachty to get it.
As announced on Friday’s SmackDown, Yachty must survive five minutes in the ring with Corbin. If he does, Williams will receive his championship match against Corbin later that night.
Celebrity involvement can be hit-or-miss in wrestling, but this makes sense for this particular show. Yachty is an Atlanta native, and WWE has made the city itself a significant part of the event’s presentation. Williams and Yachty were already prominently featured in the initial promotional material for SNME.
Could Paul Heyman Shape Sunday Night’s Main Event?
Heyman is becoming one of the most interesting wild cards heading into Atlanta.
WWE has leaned heavily into the question of “Who will kill the Legend Killer?” surrounding Rhodes’ showdown with Orton, with Rhodes suggesting he could finally be that man.
But Heyman’s recent involvement with Rhodes has created an entirely different question among fans: Could Cody Rhodes eventually align with Paul Heyman?
That’s speculation, not a prediction or spoiler, but WWE has done enough to make the possibility worth watching—particularly with such a major Rhodes match happening in his hometown.
Then there’s Breakker vs. Femi.
Heyman personally helped set the match in motion and has framed it as a battle to determine the future of WWE. That makes his allegiance another storyline to watch. Does Heyman walk out with Breakker in Atlanta? Are the two officially back together?
And don’t forget Bronson Reed.
Reed has been sidelined with an injury, but signs continue pointing toward his eventual return, with recent reporting indicating WWE intends to position him as a significant main-event-level heel when he is back.
With Rhodes, Orton, Breakker, Femi and potentially Reed all orbiting Heyman’s story in some fashion, Sunday Night’s Main Event could end up telling us considerably more about his future.
