WWE Sunday Night’s Main Event Live Results
Countdown Show: Joe Hendry vs. Dominik Mysterio
Winner: Dominik Mysterio
Grade: C+
The match was good for what it was. While Mysterio should have gone over ahead of TripleMania, it’s unfortunate to see Hendry getting the treatment he has received lately.
Opening Match: Baron Corbin vs. Lil Yachty — Five-Minute Challenge
Winner: Yachty survived five minutes.
Grade: B+
This was a fun match to open the show, and the live crowd received it well.
Match 2: Baron Corbin (c) vs. Trick Williams — United States Championship
Winner: Trick Williams
Grade: B+
I must say: this has been a good use of Corbin, who I wasn’t a fan of WWE bringing back. He has been the perfect heel for Trick, bolstering Williams as a babyface as he won the U.S. Title for the second time.
Match 3: Oba Femi vs. Bron Breakker
Winner: Oba Femi by disqualification
Grade: A
Breakker and Femi put on a good performance, and the return of Bronson Reed was well-timed. Reed looked incredible in his return.
Match 4: Charlotte Flair, Alexa Bliss & Tatum Paxley vs. Jade Cargill, Michin & B-Fab
Winners: Cargill, Michin, & B-Fab
Grade: C+
Nothing bad, but nothing great, either. This was a fine cooldown match after two big matches and Reed’s return.
Main Event: Cody Rhodes vs. Randy Orton
Winner: Randy Orton
Grade: A
The story coming out of this match is what happens next. Cody didn’t pull the trigger, and it cost him the match.
