WWE SmackDown is live tonight from Ontario, California, as the road to Crown Jewel continues.
Last week’s show ended with Cody Rhodes and Randy Orton’s rivalry taking another turn. Orton interfered in Rhodes’ match against Baron Corbin, only for Rhodes to ultimately deliver a Punt to Corbin while Orton watched in disbelief. Elsewhere, CM Punk and Kevin Owens crossed paths backstage as questions remain about when the two former world champions will meet again.
Tonight, WWE returns to Toyota Arena with four matches officially announced for the October 23 episode, including two championship bouts.

Where Is WWE SmackDown Tonight?
Tonight’s SmackDown takes place at Toyota Arena in Ontario, California. The show begins at 8 p.m. ET on USA Network.
WWE’s event listing advertises CM Punk, Cody Rhodes, Jade Cargill, Tiffany Stratton, Gunther and Trick Williams among the featured Superstars scheduled for the event.
What to Expect on WWE SmackDown
CM Punk and Kevin Owens remain one of the biggest stories to watch.
The two exchanged words backstage last week, with SmackDown General Manager Nick Aldis saying they would get their rematch once both men are healthy. Punk and Owens have plenty of unfinished business, so tonight could provide the next step toward getting them back in the ring together.
Cody Rhodes and Randy Orton are also far from finished. It seems likely their next match will be announced tonight, and I expect it to be added to Crown Jewel.
There are also major Crown Jewel implications in the WWE Women’s Championship match. Chelsea Green is currently positioned for a champion-versus-champion showdown with Women’s World Champion Liv Morgan at Crown Jewel, but in a surprising move, her defense against Roxanne Perez opens the door for Perez to take Green’s place. Tiffany Stratton is also lurking with the Money in the Bank briefcase, and it feels unlikely that she will hold onto it for long.
Finally, while Trick Williams faced off against Johnny Gargano last week and exchanged words with Sami Zayn, tonight could be a refresh for him to find his next challenger for the United States Championship.
