WWE NXT airs live tonight with one of the brand’s signature tournaments making its return.

Dusty Rhodes Tag Team Classic Begins Tonight
Tag team wrestling will take center stage as the 2026 Dusty Rhodes Tag Team Classic gets underway.
NXT General Manager Robert Stone announced the tournament last week, with 14 teams competing for the Dusty Cup.
The field includes Birth Right, Mini Vikingo & Chaz Starboy Hall, Fraxiom, DarkState, Romeo Moreno & Noam Dar, Los Americanos, Vanity Project, Tokyo Bad Boys, Sean Legacy & Dorian Van Dux, The Creed Brothers, Harley Riggins & Jaxson Presley, Shido Ash & Viktor Zanov, Hank & Tank, and El Hijo de Dr. Wagner Jr. & Galeno.
NXT Tag Team Champions Vanity Project and AAA Tag Team Champions El Hijo de Dr. Wagner Jr. & Galeno have received first-round byes.
The Creed Brothers, who won the tournament in 2022, are the only previous Dusty Classic winners in this year’s field.
What’s Next for Mason Rook?
Mason Rook enters tonight’s NXT as the new No. 1 contender for Grayson Waller’s NXT Championship.
Rook defeated Tony D’Angelo and Saquon Shugars in a Triple Threat Match last week to earn his championship opportunity.
Rook is the perfect foil for Waller. The champion is loud, arrogant and built to get under your skin. Rook doesn’t need to say much of anything. He’s an imposing, freakishly athletic heavyweight who can let his physical presence do most of the talking.
If WWE presents that contrast correctly, Waller vs. Rook has the potential to draw eyes as one of the top feuds in WWE, not just NXT.
WWE has not yet announced when Rook will receive his championship match.
