WWE NXT is live tonight from the WWE Performance Center in Orlando, Florida, with two championship matches and the Dusty Rhodes Tag Team Classic on the schedule.
The biggest development ahead of the show involves the NXT Championship. Mason Rook was originally scheduled to challenge Grayson Waller, but Rook is not medically cleared to compete. Waller will now defend the NXT Championship in an open challenge.

(In Progress) Match 1: NXT Women’s North American Championship
Zaria (c) def. Thea Hail
- Mike Rome delivered formal in-ring introductions for the opening championship match.
- Thea took a nasty spill to the floor before Zaria followed with a clothesline ahead of the first commercial break of the night.
- After a physical back-and-forth with several believable near falls, Zaria won clean with an F5 to retain the title.

- This was a good opening contest, with both women delivering a physical performance in a short amount of time.
In-Ring Segment:
Myles Borne is speaking about his recent attacks on Tavion Heights.
- Myles Borne said he meant everything he said to Tavion Heights as the crowd booed him heavily.
- Borne said he is back to being just Myles Borne and will no longer allow himself to be suckered in by Tavion.
- He admitted Ethan Page was right when he said Borne didn’t have the killer instinct to become the face of NXT.
- Borne said he made a “career-defining” decision to stop being one-half of a team and start being the star.
Dusty Rhodes Tag Team Classic – First Round
Mini Vikingo & Chazz “Starboy” Hall def. BirthRight (Channing “Stacks” Lorenzo & Uriah Connors)
- After a backstage interview with Waller, Vikingo & Hall were already in the ring.
- Vikingo pinned Stacks after a 630 splash.

- This was an athletic tag team match that showed the upside of both teams. I’m surprised Vikingo & Hall advanced.
- Zilla Fatu saved Vikingo and Hall from a post-match attack by BirthRight.
Backstage Chronicle: Cruz Montana
- Montana delivered an emotional backstage promo chronicling his life story. This is worth your time to watch.
In-Ring Segment
NXT Women’s Champion Kelani Jordan
- Kelani Jordan discussed who could be next in line for a title shot before Robert Stone came out and announced a 20-woman Battle Royal for next week. The winner will challenge Jordan at Halloween Havoc, with competitors from Raw, SmackDown, AAA, Evolve and TNA set to take part.
- Reina Volcan attacked Jordan and said she’s in the Battle Royal.
