Money in the Bank has always been about the future.
The annual ladder matches offer WWE Superstars the opportunity to literally climb into the world championship picture, and that feels particularly appropriate in 2026.
WWE has spent much of this year emphasizing its next generation, a shift that truly began with John Cena’s farewell match late last year. That night felt like a catalyst for WWE to begin moving forward without one of the biggest stars in company history, and the process has accelerated throughout 2026.
Even the promotional poster for this year’s Money in the Bank reflects that direction. Rather than Roman Reigns, Cody Rhodes or CM Punk, Trick Williams, Sol Ruca, IYO SKY and Penta are featured prominently.
