WWE Hall of Famer Ric Flair was reportedly taken to a hospital on Friday, October 23, after suffering a fall outside a restaurant in Tampa, Florida. The incident came just hours after the 77-year-old wrestling legend revealed that a blood clot in his leg had forced him to cancel a scheduled appearance in Washington state.
According to “TMZ Sports,” Flair was at Wagamama in Tampa on Friday morning when he got up from the bar, leaving his phone and drink behind. He reportedly walked across the street before suddenly falling and injuring his face.
Sources cited in the report said Flair suffered cuts to his head and the area around his eye, which was bleeding heavily. He was subsequently placed in an ambulance and transported to a hospital for treatment. A possible concussion was also mentioned in the report, but it has not been confirmed.
As of the latest reports, Flair’s representatives had not publicly provided a detailed update on his condition following the accident. It is therefore unclear whether he sustained any further injuries or how long he may need to recover.
The fall adds to a concerning day for the wrestling legend, who had already informed fans that an ongoing medical issue was preventing him from traveling long distances. His latest hospitalization has raised further concern among fans, although more information about his condition will be needed before his recovery prospects become clear.
Ric Flair Cancels Washington State Horror Con Appearance Due to Blood Clot
Earlier on Friday, “The Nature Boy” announced on X that he would miss Washington State Horror Con, scheduled for October 23–25 at the Washington State Fair and Events Center in Puyallup. He apologized to his agent, Steve Solomon, the event organizers, Big Event NY, and fans who had hoped to meet him.
Flair explained that doctors had limited his travel to three or four hours because of a blood clot in his leg, ruling out the journey to Seattle. He also warned that blood clots can be life-threatening and referenced Philadelphia Eagles quarterback Jalen Hurts’ complications involving blood clots in his lungs.
The wrestling icon revealed that he is scheduled to undergo a procedure to strip the affected vein. His doctors reportedly expect the treatment to help him receive clearance for longer trips, though Flair has not shared a date for the procedure.
Flair previously missed the Cauliflower Alley Club’s annual reunion because of the same condition. For now, his immediate priority is following medical advice and recovering from his health issues, while fans await an official update following the reported fall.
