Brock Lesnar says his WWE career is officially over.
Appearing on "The Pat McAfee Show" on Tuesday, August 4, Lesnar confirmed that his emotional appearance at WWE SummerSlam 2026 was, in fact, his final match.
While fans had speculated after his post-match comments Saturday night and WWE's tribute package on Raw, this marks the first time Lesnar himself has publicly stated that he is retired.
Lesnar's farewell came after a brutal Hell in a Cell match against Oba Femi at SummerSlam. Following the bout, the former WWE Champion embraced Femi and addressed the crowd, calling himself "the past" while declaring Femi "the future."
The symbolic moment was widely viewed as Lesnar passing the torch to one of WWE's fastest-rising stars.
Raw reinforced that feeling with a video tribute celebrating Lesnar's legendary career. WWE never formally announced his retirement, but ESPN—WWE's broadcast partner—also referred to Lesnar as retired in a social media post following the event.

Never say never in professional wrestling.
History is full of Hall of Famers and legends who stepped away only to return for one more marquee match. With WrestleMania scheduled for Saudi Arabia next year, there will undoubtedly be speculation about whether Lesnar — or other recently retired stars — could make one final appearance.
Still, Lesnar's comments on McAfee's show sounded definitive.
In many ways, SummerSlam already felt like overtime for "The Beast Incarnate."
His emotional sendoff came just months after what many believed was his intended retirement at WrestleMania 42. Rather than quietly walking away then, Lesnar returned for one last story, one last fight, and one final opportunity to elevate Oba Femi.

If this truly is the end, Lesnar leaves WWE as one of the most accomplished and influential performers in company history.
