I argued earlier this month that WWE should relocate Crown Jewel because the ongoing instability in the Middle East creates an unnecessary risk for its talent and staff. Unfortunately, the latest warning from the U.S. government only strengthens that argument.
The U.S. Mission in Saudi Arabia issued a new security alert on Oct. 18, less than three weeks before WWE is scheduled to arrive in Riyadh.

U.S. Warns Americans About Travel in Saudi Arabia
The alert says Americans in the Middle East should “exercise heightened vigilance due to the complex security environment” and warns of “potential flight cancellations, airspace closures, and travel disruptions.”
More concerning for WWE, the alert specifically mentions Saudi Arabia. The U.S. government says Iranian-supported Houthis have attacked civilian airports and other critical infrastructure in the country, causing casualties and significant travel disruptions. It also warns that the conflict could quickly spread beyond its current scope.
Saudi Arabia remains under a Level 3 “Reconsider Travel” advisory from the State Department.
This doesn’t mean Crown Jewel will be attacked, nor should anyone pretend it does. My point remains the same as it was before: Why take the risk?
WWE can hold this show almost anywhere. With another warning now specifically addressing attacks on Saudi airports and possible disruptions to air travel, relocating Crown Jewel is the responsible choice.
WWE’s Long Relationship With Saudi Arabia
Of course, moving Crown Jewel isn’t as simple as finding another arena.
WWE entered a 10-year strategic partnership with Saudi Arabia in 2018 as part of the country’s Vision 2030 initiative. The relationship was expanded in 2019 to include two major WWE events annually through 2027.
The partnership has since produced Crown Jewel, Elimination Chamber, Night of Champions, King & Queen of the Ring and this year’s Royal Rumble. Saudi Arabia will also host WrestleMania 43 in 2027.
That relationship explains why WWE continues returning to the country. It doesn’t mean Crown Jewel has to happen there this November.
WWE Crown Jewel 2026 Date, Location and Current Card
As of Monday, WWE Crown Jewel remains scheduled for Saturday, Nov. 7 at Riyadh Season Stadium at KAFD in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. The show begins at noon ET/9 a.m. PT and will stream on the ESPN App with an ESPN Unlimited plan in the United States and Netflix internationally.
