WWE Superstar The Miz faced criticism from some wrestling fans after posting about his fantasy football loss shortly after the wrestling world learned of PAC’s death. While some fans felt the timing of the post was insensitive, others pushed back against the criticism and suggested that Miz may not have known about the AEW star’s passing when he posted it.

Miz wrote on X, “Lost a Sunday Lost my ESPN Fantasy Football Matchup because of it On the positive side Australia is beautiful Zero Jet Lag Ready to take on Perth #LetsGo.”

The post came only a few hours after AEW announced that PAC had died at 40, leading some fans to question Miz for seemingly discussing his own day without acknowledging the news.

Some of the responses were direct, with one fan writing:

“I genuinely can’t defend you anymore.”

Another wrote, “Not great timing Mike.”

Others simply replied, “Bro PAC died, cmon,” and “Thoughts on the death of Pac?”

One person told Miz, “Mike… I suggest you Google Pac’s name.”

However, plenty of fans defended Miz and pointed out that there was no way to know whether he had already seen the news. One fan wrote:

“There are some seriously mentally ill people responding to these… If anything, the news from today should have been a reminder that life should not be taken for granted, and to be considerate.”

Another defended Miz by saying, “The amount of dumb fans in the comments is crazy, but not surprising.”

A separate fan suggested the post may have been prepared in advance, writing, “Real honest for as busy as the Miz is and he has a family. This may have been pre recorded. Trolls better not come for him 😤 R.I.P PAC.”

Others made the same point more simply. “Hey be kind, maybe he doesn’t know yet!” one fan wrote.

Another response was more blunt:

“Hey retards in the comments, ever consider thinking Miz isnt chronically online like you. He clearly doesnt know!”

The reactions highlighted the uncertainty surrounding Miz’s post rather than establishing that he knowingly ignored PAC’s death. Fans defending him largely focused on the possibility that he had not yet seen the announcement or that the post had been scheduled beforehand.

The Miz Later Paid Tribute to PAC

The WWE star later addressed PAC’s death directly, offering his condolences to the wrestler’s family and friends and putting the earlier social media reaction into a very different context.

He wrote:

“Just a heartbreaking day. My thoughts and prayers are with the family and friends of PAC. May he rest in peace.”

The message was shared alongside a tribute image and was among the many reactions from WWE and AEW figures following Benjamin Satterley’s death.

PAC’s death had been announced by AEW without a cause of death being disclosed. The timing made the loss especially difficult for the wrestling community, as Satterley had competed at All Out only a day earlier.

Miz’s later tribute also gave fans the response many had been waiting for. Whatever the reason for the timing of his earlier post, he ultimately joined the wider wrestling community in mourning PAC and remembering the AEW star.
