The Connecticut Sun traded Aneesah Morrow to the Toronto Tempo a couple of days before the WNBA trade deadline. In return, Toronto sent forward Maria Kliundikova and its 2028 second-round pick to Connecticut.
It was certainly a significant trade for the Tempo, especially since Morrow has been really productive in her second year. She was third in scoring (11.6 points) and first in rebounds (8.9 board) for the Sun.
On Tuesday against the Golden State Valkyries, Morrow finally made her debut for the Tempo. Despite Toronto's 92-82 loss, the 23-year-old forward recorded eight points, five rebounds and one block in just 16 minutes of action.
As Morrow continues to adjust to a new system, expectations are high that she'll be an impactful contributor for the Tempo.

However, Morrow's first game with the Tempo wasn't all positive. During the game, she also received her first flagrant foul of the season.
In the third quarter, Morrow was assessed a Flagrant 1 foul on Kayla Thornton after she elbowed the Valkyries forward in the neck and jaw area during a spin move, according to Savanna Hamilton of CBC.
It was initially called a common foul before a review of the play led to it being upgraded to a flagrant.
As a result, Morrow is now due to pay a $500 fine to the WNBA. The league's rules state that each flagrant point carries a $500 fine. A Flagrant 1 foul accounts for one flagrant point, while a Flagrant 2 foul accounts for two flagrant points.
The flagrant-point limit before a player is hit with a one-game suspension is four. Furthermore, when a player with three flagrant points commits a Flagrant 2 foul, they will receive a two-game suspension.
While it was Morrow's first flagrant point, she already has two technical fouls this season as well. A player gets a one-game suspension once they reach eight technical fouls.
