A'ja Wilson and the Las Vegas Aces improved to 12-4 on the season with a 92-73 victory over the Golden State Valkyries on Sunday. Las Vegas led by as many as 28 points in the contest before settling for the 19-point win.
Wilson was all over the floor in the win, recording 19 points on 7-of-13 shooting, along with nine rebounds, three assists, one steal and two blocks. Jackie Young led the Aces in scoring with 21 points on 9-of-12 shooting.
Las Vegas made life hard for Golden State throughout the game, with the Valkyries struggling offensively. None of their players scored more than 12 points in the loss.
However, while it was impressive performance by the Aces, it wasn't without its issues. Wilson actually received her first technical foul of the season in the win, putting her in line for a fine.

A'ja Wilson Facing WNBA Punishment
Midway through the second quarter of the game, Tiffany Hayes collided with Wilson, who was setting a screen for Young. While the referees issued a personal foul to Hayes first for the play, they also called a tech on Wilson after she hit the Valkyries guard in the chin with her elbow.
Clearly, though, Wilson was not happy with the call and was even seen complaining when she was assessed the technical foul.
Now, according to the WNBA's rules, the first three technical fouls each carry a $500 fine. The punishment increases to a $1,000 fine for each of the fourth through seventh technical fouls. Anything beyond that will cost $1,500 and an automatic one-game suspension.
Since it's Wilson's first technical foul of the season, she's due to pay a $500 fine if the WNBA doesn't rescind the call.
