The Indiana Fever easily took care of the Connecticut Sun on Wednesday night due to a sensational performance from Caitlin Clark. That being said, she's on the cusp of receiving an automatic suspension from the WNBA.
Clark, who had 27 points and 11 assists in the Fever's 123-88 win, had an argument with Sun guard Saniya Rivers in the closing stages of the fourth quarter. After Clark tossed the ball to an official, you could see her and Rivers exchange words.
The officiating crew assigned to the Sun-Fever game opted to give both Clark and Rivers technical fouls.
"She said she was locking me up, so I said, 'Scoreboard,' and the ref didn't like that," Clark told reporters, via ESPN. "I'm never going to back down. I think just continue to try to control your emotions the best you can. That intensity and that fire is what makes me me, but also knowing my team needs me and finding a good balance of that. But I don't think I'm going to be playing with that in the back of my head."

While Fever fans are glad Clark stood up for herself, they're not thrilled that she's up to seven technical fouls on the season. She's officially one more technical foul away from receiving an automatic one-game suspension.
For now, Clark will receive a $1,000 fine for her latest technical foul.
Not changing her ways.
Fever coach Stephanie White was asked if Clark needs to be a bit more cautious now that she has seven technical fouls this season. Let's just say she laughed at that idea.
"Anybody who thinks that I have a plan to be strategic about technical fouls is crazy. I mean, look, she's just got to pick and choose, right? She's got to pick and choose, and it's every two after that. So I think the biggest thing is she knows, she has awareness about it," White said. "We'll try to help her when we can, but sometimes we can't. And if she wants to be strategic about which game she doesn't want to play, then she'll let her fly."
The Fever will return to action on July 28 against the Seattle Storm.
