Breanna Stewart doesn’t take her time spent with the U.S. women’s basketball team for granted, that’s for sure.
Stewart, 32, has already captured three FIBA World Cup titles and three Olympic gold medals with Team USA. The future Hall of Famer doesn’t have much left to accomplish, and yet, she’s giving it her all in the 2026 FIBA World Cup.
Prior to this Thursday’s quarterfinal match against Hungary, OutKick spoke to Stewart about representing her country on the biggest stage. Her response was exactly the kind you’d expect from a leader of her caliber.
“It feels great,” Stewart said. “I think that any time I can represent Team USA I want to. I’ve had the incredible opportunity of being able to do it for a long time and since I was really young, and every time I get the call I want to show up.”

The road to the World Cup quarterfinals.
After dominating China in the World Cup opener, Team USA escaped with a 55-52 win over Italy. Any concerns were erased on Monday with a 105-65 win over Czechia.
Although the starting lineup for the quarterfinals hasn’t been announced yet, Team USA is expected to roll with Napheesa Collier, Jackie Young, Breanna Stewart, Kahleah Cooper and Chelsea Gray.
Thursday’s showdown between the United States and Hungary will be televised on TNT at 5:30 a.m.
