The Phoenix Mercury lost to the Minnesota Lynx in a tightly contested affair on Monday. Despite the 104-100 loss, however, the game wasn't without its positives for DeWanna Bonner and company.
Bonner finished with 17 points, nine rebounds, three assists and one steal for the Mercury, and she made history with her performance.
According to the WNBA, with her one steal, she surpassed Sheryl Swoopes for the sixth-most steals in league history. Bonner now has 658 steals.
"Movement on the leaderboard," the WNBA wrote to announce Bonner's milestone. "With her steal in the 2Q, DeWanna Bonner passed Sheryl Swoopes on the WNBA’s all‑time steals list, moving into 6th place."

Bonner, who is already in her 17th season playing in the WNBA, continues to set records and further cement herself as one of the best to ever play in the league.
It's worth noting that the 38-year-old most recently reached 8,000 points, becoming just the third WNBA player ever to reach that mark. She joined Diana Taurasi (10,646 points) and Tina Charles (8,398 points).
Bonner is averaging 9.0 points, 5.3 rebounds, 1.3 assists, 1.1 steals and 0.7 blocks per game this season. With 19 games left to play for Phoenix, she's on track to climb other WNBA all-time statistical leaderboards.
Bonner is only six games away from surpassing Diana Taurasi (565) for the second-most games played ever. She also needs just 20 rebounds to crack the top five on the all-time rebounding list and surpass Rebekkah Brunson (3,356).
Furthermore, Bonner is nine blocks away from breaking into the top 20 of the blocks leaderboard. She has 360 career blocks, ranking 22nd all-time. Former WNBA star Erika de Souza holds the 20th spot with 368 career blocks.
