The Indiana Fever not only beat the Chicago Sky on Saturday to end their two-game slump, but Caitlin Clark and Kelsey Mitchell also made history in the process.
While it was a controversial game, with Clark getting her eighth technical foul (before it was rescinded) and Sophie Cunningham on the wrong end of a dangerous hit, the Fever did enough to survive a feisty comeback after the Sky erased their 17-point lead.
Mitchell scored a jumper to make it an 89-83 game with 40 seconds left, while a Clark free throw with 18 seconds remaining allowed Indiana to seal the deal.
Clark finished with 26 points, four rebounds, 11 assists, two steals and one block in the 90-86 win. Meanwhile, Mitchell recorded 27 points on 11-of-22 shooting, along with five rebounds, two assists, two steals and one block.

With that performance, Clark and Mitchell tied the record for the second-most 25-point games by a duo in league history. According to the WNBA, this was the eighth time ever that the two scored at least 25 points in a single game.
That's not the only history that Clark and Mitchell made, though. As the Fever posted on social media, the two have now scored a combined 516 points in their last 10 games. That is the most ever by any duo in a 10-game span.
Indiana improved to 20-12 on the season with their latest win, climbing to fourth in the WNBA standings.
Considering how well Clark and Mitchell have been playing, it's not hard to see them making more history while helping Indiana further improve its record.
