The Indiana Fever took care of business against the Las Vegas Aces in Game 2 of their first-round playoff series, but the home crowd nearly lost its composure in the fourth quarter.
With 2:45 remaining and the Fever leading 92-83, Clark picked up her sixth and final foul of the game. She was trying to contest a layup from A’ja Wilson when she was called for a blocking foul. As you’d imagine, the crowd at Gainbridge Fieldhouse showered the refs with boos once they blew the whistle on Clark.
Fans who watched Game 2 of the Aces-Fever series on Prime Video also had an issue with Tuesday night’s officiating crew.

“A’ja Wilson just threw Caitlin Clark to the floor, got Clark fouled out, then Taunted over her body, & the same refs that kicked the fan out didn’t car,” one fan wrote on X.
“The refs couldn’t wait to get rid of Caitlin Clark from this game, half her fouls were bogus,” a second fan said.
“This league allowed these refs to foul out Caitlin in a close out playoff game and at least 4 of them were straight up BS,” another fan wrote. “Investigate the refs.”
“The WNBA refs are terrible! They never give Caitlin Clark the benefit of the doubt and have fouled out the most popular player in the game while playing at home in a critical playoff game,” a fourth fan commented.
Caitlin Clark still made history.
Despite fouling out on Tuesday night, Clark recorded the first 25-point, 15-assist game in the history of the WNBA playoffs.
Clark set the tone with her 3-point shooting, knocking down 5 of 11 attempts from beyond the arc. Her intensity was undeniable too, as she was seen hyping up the crowd multiple times.
Game 3 between the Aces and Fever is set for this Thursday at 9 p.m. ET.
