WNBA fans are praising Angel Reese for her “mental toughness” following Sunday’s devastating loss to Caitlin Clark.
Reese, a three-time WNBA All-Star, suffered a crushing loss to the Indiana Fever on Sunday. Reese had a game-winning layup attempt as the clock was expiring, but she couldn’t get it done. Reese missed a layup and the Fever were able to pull away in overtime.
Following the game, Reese owned up about her mental status. She admitted that she had a hard time sleeping after the game. However, following the tough loss, she’s pushing forward with some strength.
“Last game was very tough for me. I didn’t sleep…I replay that play so many times. And I’m like, why would I let that moment dictate everything else that I have going on that’s positive?”
WNBA fans praise Angel Reese’s toughness
“This is why I’m always gonna keep buying in on Angel Reese as a player. The great ones take their L’s and figure it out pretty quickly. Huge bounce back for ATL and big to finally get the Vegas stuff off their backs,” one fan wrote.
“Exactly why all that crashing out was not moving me. Nobody harder on Angel than Angel,” one fan added.
“Angel is her toughest critic, why would I add to that,” one fan added.
“This is one of many reasons that in my opinion, Angel Reese is elite and a special player. She took accountability for the ending of Sunday’s loss to Indiana and then delivered a beautiful performance in a big road win against the WNBA’s best player. Props,” one fan added.
“I knew she was gonna be carrying that on her shoulders. She’s her hardest critic so as a fan I wouldn’t need yo add to it,” one fan added.
“Exactly why I said what I said. Yall love to beat dead horses on this app. Angel know what she gotta do. She don’t need us to tell her,” one fan added.
Reese is looking to move forward in a big way.
