It certainly looks like Phoenix Mercury stars and sports couple DeWanna Bonner and Alyssa Thomas are unbothered by the recent controversy surrounding them.
Bonner recently drew attention after getting into a heated exchange with Caitlin Clark and Sophie Cunningham during a June 22 game between the Indiana Fever and Mercury. Bonner was assessed a technical foul after a pointing match with Cunningham and subsequently went viral because of the incident.
Thomas, for her part, received a one-game suspension from the WNBA following an incident with Clark during Wednesday's showdown with Indiana. The Mercury forward was seen hitting the Fever guard in the throat area while she was down, sparking heavy backlash.
No foul was called on the play, but after the WNBA reviewed what happened, the league issued Thomas a retroactive Flagrant 2 foul and a suspension. She served her suspension during Saturday's contest against the Toronto Tempo.
