Indiana Fever star Caitlin Clark had two golden opportunities to close out the Las Vegas Aces on Thursday night, but she came up short when it mattered most.

Clark had the chance to put the game on ice with the Fever leading 75-72 with seven seconds remaining in regulation. However, she missed both of her free throw attempts. A few seconds later, Chelsea Gray hit a 3-pointer at the buzzer to send the game into overtime.

Unfortunately for Clark, she also had a critical error in overtime that cost the Fever the game. With under nine seconds left in overtime, Clark lost the ball while her team was clinging onto an 84-83 lead.

Once again, the Aces asked Gray to come up with a heroic shot at the buzzer. Luckily for the defending champions, she stepped up to the plate and hit yet another 3-pointer as time expired.

After the Aces secured an 86-84 win over the Fever, countless WNBA fans ripped Clark for "choking" in crunch time.

"The issue isn’t with this turnover by Caitlin Clark (though she had 8). The issue is she didn’t get her butt off the ground and SPRINT to get back in the play," former FS1 host Emmanuel Acho said. "Clark could’ve blocked Gray’s shot from behind or made her put the ball on the deck. She didn’t even get back in frame!"

"Turnovers have been Caitlin Clark's kryptonite. I've written about how she needs to get those under control because they could really hurt her legacy. She got bested by the MVP, and choked at the FT line," one person wrote on X.

"CC definitely blew that game," a fan declared.

"What was she doing on that final possession," another fan asked.

Time for Caitlin to bounce back.

Last night's loss shouldn't negatively impact the way Clark is viewed around the league. She's still having an excellent season with the Fever, averaging 21.5 points and 8.0 asssits per game.

Besides, Clark will have a chance to redeem herself this Saturday against the Chicago Sky.
