Clark, and that is a strategy that should work well for them given the two-time All-Star’s ability and gravity.
That approach was evident in their final signing before the end of the offseason. The Fever added a veteran small forward with winning experience, and negotiations between the two parties were not difficult.
Myisha Hines-Allen is now with the Fever after agreeing to a deal last week. She is entering her ninth season and is considered one of the most consistent and impactful role players in the league.
She entered the league with the Washington Mystics in 2018 as the 19th overall pick and immediately became one of the more impactful rookies at the time. She helped the team win a title in 2019, and by 2020, she made a massive leap, averaging 17 points per game after putting up just 2.3 the previous year. She also became a full-time starter that season.

From there, she established herself as one of the league’s top role players. She last played for the Dallas Wings, where she averaged 7.6 points and six rebounds in 40 games.
Fever COO and GM Amber Cox said Hines-Allen’s presence will be crucial on and off the court.
"She has been a consistent performer on both sides of the ball throughout her career and brings championship experience that will impact us on the court and in the locker room," Cox said in a statement.
"We’re thrilled to welcome her to the Fever.”
Cox and the rest of the Fever front office value Hines-Allen’s presence, but the 30-year-old small forward understands that the team is built around Clark.
Hines-Allen said she signed with the Fever because she wants to win and for the chance to play with the phenomenal guard.
"Being able to play with Caitlin Clark, I think that was a huge eye opener. Like, I have the opportunity to play with one of the greatest players that’s ever gonna play the game of basketball," she told reporters on Wednesday as posted in the Fever Instagram account.
"So, for me, once I also heard that she really wants me here, too, I was like, 'Oh, well let's get it done then! There's no questions about it.'"
Lexie Hull is expected to be the Fever’s starting small forward. Hines-Allen will come off the bench, either as a second- or third-string option, with Sophie Cunningham as the sixth woman.
The Fever will open the season on May 9 against Hines-Allen’s former team, the Wings.
