The WNBA announced on Monday a final decision on Enes Kanter and Royce White’s eligibility for the 2027 WNBA Draft.
Kanter and White, both former NBA players, have officially declared for the 2027 WNBA Draft. However, they will not be eligible to be picked. The WNBA has announced that neither Kanter nor White are eligible, chalking up their WNBA Draft decisions to publicity stunts.
The WNBA has said that it has no immediate issues to address.
A league source told Colin Salao of Front Office Sports that the recent declarations of the two men are “simply publicity stunts” and added that the league is “not going to give oxygen to efforts designed to mock the league or use this topic to demean and marginalize others.”

The league added that it will continue to discuss transgender athletes, but it “will not allow outside pressure or manufactured controversy to dictate league processes,” the source said to Front Office Sports.
Kanter, White continue to seek attention on social media
Kanter attended Sunday night’s Fever at Sky game in Chicago. The former NBA forward was ejected from the contest.
“I just got kicked out of a @WNBA game for supporting WOMEN! Let that sink in, AMERICA! 🇺🇸,” he shared on X.
“It’s always women hating on other women.”
White believes that Kanter will ultimately be banned from attending WNBA games. However, as of Monday afternoon, the league has not yet announced an official decision on whether or not Kanter is welcomed back at another league game.
But it’s clear that neither Kanter nor White will be playing in a WNBA game next season. The league has ruled that they are not eligible.
