A year ago, Tennessee Titans QB Will Levis hoped to compete against then-rookie Cam Ward for the starting job, only to see his season end before it could begin. Now that he's healthy, he plans to be a starter again soon.
Speaking to the media on Saturday, Levis - who is currently competing with veteran Mitchell Trubisky to be the primary backup to Ward - declared that there aren't 32 QBs in the league that are better than him. He stated that he feels more confident than ever and feels like "a true vet" now.
“There are not 32 quarterbacks in this league better than me,” Levis said. “I know that for sure.
“I have more confidence than I’ve ever had. I know from the tape I’ve put on already that I’m a dang good quarterback in this league, even better than I ever have been.”
“This is really Year Four, I’m a true vet at this point. I’ve definitely grown a lot. I feel like I was a kid when I got here, now I’m a man.”
Confidence, Cockiness or Arrogance?
Levis calls it confidence, but other NFL fans have a slew of other words that they'd use to describe Levis' attitude about his viability as a starting QB.
"It seems Will's conceit has grown instead of his QB skills. Who's filling his head with nonsense? Has he bothered to go back & review his boneheaded plays or hilarious memes after every disastrous game?" one fan wrote on X.
"He's right. Give the man some credit. There aren't 32 QBs in the NFL better than him. There are 64," wrote another.
"Is he even one of the best 32 in his state?" a third asked.
"Well technically he's not wrong. There are probably 40-50 QBs better than him."
Levis was a star QB at Kentucky who the Titans took in the second round of the 2023 NFL Draft. As a rookie he showed some flashes of excellence, completing 58.4-percent of his passes for 1,808 yards and eight touchdowns with four interceptions in nine games.

The following season, Levis earned the starting job but struggled mightily for long stretches as the team went just 2-10. The Titans went on to finish 3-14 that season and the team drafted Ward No. 1 overall to be their QB of the future.
Levis might have gotten a chance to compete against Ward for that starting job before a need for surgery ended his 2025 campaign before any passes were thrown. Ward didn't have a particularly good rookie season, but he showed enough growth by the end of the season that he entered 2026 as the unquestioned starter.
Levis should probably worry less about beating out 32 QBs for their starting jobs and more on beating out Trubisky for the right to hold the clipboard on Sundays.
