San Francisco Giants ace Logan Webb will be available for the 2026 MLB All-Star Game, but only if the National League runs out of pitchers.

National League manager Dave Roberts told Webb he would only pitch in an "emergency" situation, a decision the right-hander confirmed during All-Star Media Day. The plan allows Webb to enjoy the event while prioritizing his workload ahead of the second half of the season.

Webb has carried a heavy load for the Giants this year and recently returned from a knee injury that sidelined him for much of May. He also logged additional innings earlier in the year while pitching for Team USA in the World Baseball Classic, making rest a priority for San Francisco.

Speaking with reporters, Webb described his role as being the "last guy available," meaning he would only take the mound if the game reached an unexpected situation such as extended extra innings or the National League exhausted its bullpen.

The cautious approach reflects the Giants' desire to keep their staff ace healthy entering the second half. Webb has remained one of the club's most dependable starters despite missing time and continues to be a key piece of the rotation.

The 29-year-old owns a 5-7 record with a 3.86 ERA, 1.16 WHIP and 80 strikeouts across 100 1/3 innings in 16 starts this season. His last outing came against the Toronto Blue Jays on July 8, when he allowed five earned runs over seven innings.

San Francisco entered the All-Star break at 41-55 and fourth in the National League West. With the club facing an uphill battle in the playoff race, preserving Webb for the stretch run appears more valuable than asking him to throw an inning in the Midsummer Classic.
