The wife of NHL player Dylan Strome is not happy with online trolls.

This week, the NHL shared a photo of the Washington Capitals player on social media. It was a photo of Strome with one of his daughters. In the photo, they're sitting on the floor at Disney's Bibbidi Bobbidi Boutique, and the child is wearing a pink princess dress. Dylan's hat says "Girl Dad."

The NHL captioned the photo with: "Dylan Strome is the ultimate girl dad ❤️"

But fans took issue with the timing of the post.

Days earlier, the U.S. men's team faced backlash for laughing at President Trump's joke about the women's team. He told the men's team players that he "probably would be impeached" if he didn't invite the women's team to the State of the Union, as well.

The U.S. men ultimately attended the event, while the women had to skip due to scheduling concerns.

"We are sincerely grateful for the invitation extended to our gold medal-winning U.S. Women's Hockey Team and deeply appreciate the recognition of their extraordinary achievement," the U.S. women's team said in a statement released Monday. "Due to the timing and previously scheduled academic and professional commitments following the Games, the athletes are unable to participate. They were honored to be included and are grateful for the acknowledgment."

In the wake of the "controversy," some accused the NHL of trying to move past it with a "girl dad" photo.

Dylan Strome, who is Canadian, didn't even play in the Winter Olympics. His wife is upset with online trolls.

Wife of NHL player speaks out

Taylor Strome spoke out.

"We were placed into a narrative that we have absolutely nothing to do with, and we certainly did not choose to have our family used in it," Taylor wrote on her Instagram story. "You can debate adults all you want, but dragging my husband and especially my toddler into something that has nothing to do with us is beyond unacceptable."

She added: "The comments and messages about my TWO YEAR OLD DAUGHTER are some of the most vile and disgusting things I have ever read in my life. This isn't about politics. She is a child. Full Stop. Do better."

The wife of the NHL player is furious - and understandably so.
