Caitlin Clark and the rest of Team USA struggled big time against Italy during their showdown at the FIBA Women’s Basketball World Cup on Sunday.
Clark, who had 14 points and 11 assists in Team USA’s opener against China, was limited to just one point, four rebounds and one assist in the Americans’ 55-52 win over Italy. She failed to make a field goal on six attempts and recorded two turnovers.
For what it’s worth, the entire Team USA had a hard time offensively. Outside of Jackie Young, who had 10 points on 4-of-6 shooting, no one from the squad made more than two field goals.

Despite the poor performance, however, the Team USA players didn’t let it bother them. They even found a reason to laugh in the locker room because of Clark.
As a broadcast camera gave viewers a look at the Team USA locker room following the win, Clark was seen hiding her feet. Hilariously, Young made sure to point to the Indiana Fever star’s feet to make sure they didn’t go unnoticed.
The camera then panned to Angel Reese and Aliyah Boston laughing at Clark and what she was doing.
For what it’s worth, fans absolutely loved seeing Clark and her Team USA teammates get along together and smile even after a tough game.
“At least they’re laughing with each other,” a fan wrote. Another one said, “Making the room laugh when they needed it most.”
“I know it’s killing alot of you to see them all laughing together…kills your narrative too,” a poster added.
A follower shared, “Nice to see all smiling together.”
“I love these ladies!!” a fifth fan exclaimed.
