The Brazilian player last played for Santos on May 17, 2026, against Coritiba in the Brazilian league. Santos lost 0-3 at home, where Neymar started the match but was taken off in the 65th minute.

After this latest injury, Neymar is not expected to play the Santos games against Deportivo Cuenca tonight and the league match against Vitoria on the weekend.
Neymar is set to join the national team this week as he has recovered quickly and is training. Lucas Motta reports that Neymar trained with the team yesterday and will continue his training at home on Tuesday, the day of the match, then watch the game.
After that, Neymar will report with the Brazilian national team this week and will no longer be part of the Santos squad until after the World Cup concludes.
