Portugal take on Norway in their second match of the 2026 UEFA Nations League campaign. In their opening fixture against Wales, Jorge Jesus’ side secured a narrow 1-0 win thanks to a 22nd-minute goal from Joao Felix.
They now face Erling Haaland’s Norway, who are coming off a 3-2 win over Denmark in their opening match. Oscar Bobb and Erling Haaland (2) were the goalscorers for the Vikings.
Norway will also have momentum and confidence on their side after a successful World Cup run in which they reached the quarterfinals before losing to England. Compared to their rivals, Portugal had a disappointing World Cup, and Jorge Jesus now has big decisions to make as he looks to get the most out of a squad that boasts immense talent.

For the moment, the former Al Nassr manager has opted for a rotated lineup, with several core players left on the bench for the Norway fixture.
Bruno Fernandes, Cristiano Ronaldo and Vitinha are all not featuring at kickoff.
Why Is Bruno Fernandes Not Playing?
Jorge Jesus had earlier confirmed that the Manchester United captain had been playing through significant pain during his last three matches with his club.
While the 32-year-old managed to play most of Portugal’s 1-0 victory over Wales, Fernandes was substituted late in the match.
“In the game against Wales, we went in with all the available players but Bruno Fernandes came off with a complicated problem,” Jesus said.
The 72-year-old head coach explained that the player was already carrying an injury before joining the national team.
“He’s coming off an injury at United, and he told me he’s been playing with that pain for the last three games, which is hindering him.”
