Manchester United take on Championship side Wrexham as they begin their preseason schedule at Helsinki Olympic Stadium.
With several senior players unavailable after the 2026 FIFA World Cup, head coach Michael Carrick has an opportunity to hand valuable minutes to a number of young players ahead of a busy season that includes a return to the UEFA Champions League.
Academy talents including Harry Amass, Jack Fletcher, Tyler Fletcher, Shea Lacey, Chido Obi, and Ethan Wheatley are all expected to get the chance to impress.
Why Is Šeško Not Playing Against Wrexham?
Benjamin Šeško has not played since suffering a shin injury during Manchester United's victory over Liverpool in May, when he was forced off at halftime.
The setback ruled him out for the final three matches of the 2025–26 season, and although he was not involved in the World Cup, the 23-year-old is still working his way back to full fitness.

Manchester United confirmed before the match that Šeško and goalkeeper Karl Darlow did not travel with the squad to Finland.
"Benjamin Šeško has remained at Carrington Training Complex as he continues to work towards full fitness after missing the final three games of last season."
"Karl Darlow will also stay in Manchester with the new signing in the final stages of recovering from a procedure that he had at the end of last season."
"Both players are expected to be fully fit and available for the start of the 2026-27 season," the club said.
