The MLS All-Stars will face the Liga MX All-Stars tonight in the 2026 MLS All-Star Game.
The match was expected to include some of the biggest names in MLS, but several players will not be involved. Inter Miami captain Lionel Messi is one of the notable absentees.
After Messi decided not to play, MLS needed to make changes to the squad. Antoine Griezmann was also invited to take part in the game, but the Orlando City forward will not be there tonight.
Griezmann has only recently joined Orlando City and has already made his debut for the club. He now has an important period ahead of him as he gets used to his new teammates and tries to help the team move up the Eastern Conference standings.

Griezmann declined the invitation because he chose to stay with Orlando City and continue training with the team.
The French forward has only just arrived at the club, and he wants to spend more time working with his new teammates. Building chemistry is important, especially after making his first appearances for Orlando City.
The timing also makes sense for the club. Orlando have won their last two games and are trying to climb the Eastern Conference standings. With Griezmann now in the squad, the team has a better chance of fighting for a playoff place.
Instead of leaving the team for the All-Star Game, Griezmann decided to use the time to continue preparing with Orlando City.
The Lions will face the New York Red Bulls next Saturday. The Red Bulls are also in the playoff race, so Orlando will need to be ready for another important game.
For now, Griezmann's priority is clear. He wants to settle into his new club, work with his teammates and help Orlando City push for a place in the playoffs.
