The Netherlands and Sweden face off at NRG Stadium in Houston on Saturday evening, with both squads fully aware of the tight situation in Group F.
The Dutch team currently sits third in the standings following a 2-2 draw with Japan in their opening match and Ronald Koeman's side has very little room for error right now.
On the other hand, Sweden enters the match at the top of the group after delivering a dominant 5-1 performance against Tunisia.
Because of that opening-day setback, a victory is crucial for the Netherlands if they want to keep their knockout-stage fate in their own hands.
Who Is the Referee In Netherlands vs. Sweden?
English official Michael Oliver is the head referee for the Netherlands vs. Sweden Group F match at the 2026 FIFA World Cup.
This match will be Oliver's first assignment of the tournament after he was temporarily replaced, due to a minor injury from the Ecuador vs. Ivory Coast match earlier in the week.
Oliver primarily referees in the English Premier League and for major UEFA and FIFA tournaments. He has been a regular in the English top flight since 2010 and was also promoted to UEFA's Elite List of referees in 2018.
