The Asian team, who are dealing with multiple off-field issues due to the ongoing tensions between them and the United States, came back twice in the match to secure a point and keep hopes of reaching the knockout stages for the first time in the nation’s World Cup history.

Argentine referee Darío Herrera is officiating the Group H match between Belgium and Iran.
The 41-year-old officiates in the Argentine Primera División, and was also a part of the 2025 FIFA U-20 World Cup.
He also officiated the prestigious 2025 Copa Libertadores Final between Palmeiras and Flamengo.
As for his stats, Herrera has handed out over 1,100 yellow cards in his career after becoming a FIFA referee in 2015. Before that he made his debut as a league referee in 2013.
