Portuguese official João Pinheiro will serve as the referee for the 2026 FIFA World Cup quarterfinal between Argentina and Switzerland.
Pinheiro primarily officiates in Portugal's top flight, Liga Portugal, and has also handled major UEFA Champions League matches, including the Bayern Munich vs. Paris Saint-Germain semifinal in May 2026.
This will be the third match he has officiated at the 2026 FIFA World Cup.
