New Orleans Saints legend Drew Brees was officially welcomed into the Pro Football Hall of Fame this Saturday. Although it wasn't much of a surprise, he delivered an exceptional speech.
Brees, a Super Bowl MVP and 13-time Pro Bowler, finished his NFL career with 80,358 passing yards and 571 touchdowns. He still holds the records for most consecutive games (54) with a touchdown pass, highest completion percentage (74.4%) in a single season, and most seasons (five) with at least 5,000 passing yards.
“I don’t take for granted that I got to play the most coveted position in all of sports,” Brees said during his speech, via Pro Football Talk. “From as far back as I can remember, I wanted to play quarterback. I never saw the position as one of pressure, but rather one of great responsibility. . . . The quarterback is the distributor of hope and confidence. A master of probability. The ultimate problem solver. I’ve always seen the game of football and the quarterback position as a true art form like a song or a dance.”

Brees then spent a good portion of his speech thanking the city of New Orleans for embracing him from the moment he got there in 2006.
"New Orleans, you accepted me; you embraced me; you believed in me but more importantly, you trusted me with the soul of the city and I would have died to protect that calling," Brees continued.
While there's no doubt Brees fired up the crowd in Canton, fans at home were a bit baffled by his Hall of Fame bust.
What were they thinking?
Immediately after the Hall of Fame unveiled Brees' bust, Saints fans voiced their displeasure on social media.
"Bro who is this," one fan asked.
"Who makes these busts? They look nothing like these people," a second fan said.
"The bust is a travesty honestly," a third fan wrote on X.
"We not gonna talk about the HOF bust they made of Drew today," a Saints fan said. "We can save it for another day, but let’s for sure talk about it on that day."
"The Drew Brees HOF bust is a War Crime," another Saints fan commented.
If there's one thing Saints fans are going to do, it's defend their quarterback - and frankly, who can blame them?
