Néstor Lorenzo’s squad secured all three points in their World Cup opener against Uzbekistan, beating them 3-1.
Despite the win, Colombia will be aware of their opponent’s defensive stubbornness after watching them play out a 1-1 draw against Portugal.

The South American nation has never played DR Congo at international level, but they boast a strong record against African opposition at the World Cup, winning all their last three matches: 1-0 vs Tunisia in 1998, 2-1 vs Ivory Coast in 2014, and 1-0 vs Senegal in 2018.
Meanwhile, DR Congo have historically struggled against South American opposition, with no wins to their name so far. Back when they competed as Zaire at the 1974 FIFA World Cup, they were beaten 3-0 by Brazil, losing again 2-0 to them in a 1968 friendly. More recently they also went down 2-1 to Chile just before the World Cup,
