The Chicago White Sox made multiple roster moves following their 10-4 victory over the Texas Rangers, recalling right-hander Tyler Davis from Triple-A Charlotte while optioning Jonathan Cannon and Rikuu Nishida.
The moves came after Chicago took two of three games from Texas, a series capped by a strong performance from rookie left fielder Tristan Peters, who went 3-for-4 and homered for the fifth consecutive game.
The White Sox announced the transactions in an official post on X. The club confirmed that Davis had been recalled from Charlotte, while Cannon and Nishida were optioned to Triple-A.
Davis returns after providing the White Sox with 26.1 innings of relief this season. The right-hander has posted a 4.10 ERA with 22 strikeouts and could provide a fresh arm following a demanding stretch for Chicago’s bullpen.
Cannon, meanwhile, pitched three innings in the series finale against Texas, allowing two earned runs on four hits and two walks before being optioned to Charlotte.
Nishida was also sent back to Triple-A after appearing in 12 games during his brief major league stint. The rookie utility player batted .241 while collecting seven hits, two RBIs and three runs.

The moves leave the White Sox at 70-63 and in first place in the American League Central, holding a two-game lead over the Cleveland Guardians.
Chicago will next head on the road for a division matchup against the Minnesota Twins on Aug. 28, with the club continuing to manage its roster during a competitive stretch of the season.
The decision to bring back Davis gives the White Sox another pitching option while Cannon and Nishida return to Charlotte for more work.
