Mohamed Salah's future is still unclear as the Egypt captain prepares for the team's Round of 32 game of the 2026 World Cup.
"The King" is currently a free agent after mutually agreeing to end his Liverpool contract a year early, bringing an end to a trophy-filled nine-year spell at Anfield. For now, however, Salah's full attention remains on Egypt's run at the World Cup.
Once the tournament is over, the race for his signature is expected to accelerate, with clubs from Saudi Arabia, Major League Soccer, and Europe all linked with the 34-year-old.

Possible Destinations for Mohamed Salah After the World Cup
Saudi Pro League
A massive move to Saudi Arabia is now the most expected outcome for Mohamed Salah. Journalist Sacha Tavolieri reports that Al-Ahli are aggressively targeting the forward. They view him as the perfect high-profile replacement for Riyad Mahrez, who just mutually terminated his contract.
Other Saudi Pro League giants, including Al-Ittihad and Al-Hilal, have also been mentioned as potential suitors.
Despite the financial incentives on offer, reports indicate Salah wants more than just a lucrative contract. He is believed to be looking for a long-term deal and a club with genuine ambitions to compete for major trophies.
Major League Soccer
A move to Major League Soccer has also been widely discussed.
Both Inter Miami and San Diego FC have been linked with Salah in recent months. MLS is actively exploring alternative roster and financial structures to attract Mohamed Salah, but substantial roster and financial hurdles remain for both clubs.
MLS Commissioner Don Garber has publicly stated he would “love” to see Mohamed Salah in the United States, positioning the Egyptian as a transformational icon capable of elevating the league’s global profile, much like the arrivals of Lionel Messi.
Staying in Europe
The Pharaoh's captain could also decide to continue playing at the highest level in Europe.
Turkish giants Fenerbahçe have been linked with an ambitious move. But Mohamed Salah's agent, Rami Abbas, directly dismissed rumors linking the free-agent forward to the Turkish club, explicitly stating that neither he nor his client discuss sensitive future plans with outsiders.
Juventus, Inter Milan, and former club AS Roma have all been mentioned in transfer speculation.
A romantic return to his former club AS Roma has been heavily floated by the Italian press. Reports from The Guardian and La Repubblica indicate that Salah himself has considered a return to the capital, though the club would face a massive hurdle matching his salary expectations
At this stage, though, no European club has emerged as the clear favorite.
For now though, Mo Salah remains focused on national duty. With Egypt still in contention, any transfer decision is expected to wait until after their World Cup campaign comes to an end.
