The Tennessee Titans recently received their power ranking from Yahoo Sports following the offseason, and now that the preseason is in full swing.
The Titans were ranked No. 28 in the NFL, meaning Yahoo Sports projects them to be one of the league's worst teams once again. While that ranking may come as a bit of a surprise, it's no secret that the Titans have yet to prove they deserve to be viewed much higher, heading into the season.
Here is what the Yahoo Sports writer said about the Titans' ranking.
"The 2026 Titans are practically starting at square one, and that includes their second-year quarterback Cam Ward. They did almost nothing well last season in a 3-14 campaign that could've been worse. This time around, there's a new head coach in Robert Saleh, new coordinators and at least 10 new additions projected to start on offense or defense. It's close to a brand-new team," Grant Thomas said.

The roster the Titans have assembled on paper is undeniably more talented than the one they fielded in 2025; however, that also presents another challenge. The team must overcome the Titans. Entering the season with a new head coach and new coordinators, while also working to build chemistry between their newcomers and returning players. Those obstacles aren't impossible to overcome, but they're significant enough to make it difficult to confidently bet on the Titans making a Super Bowl run this season.
Should the Tennessee Titans Be Ranked Higher Than No. 28?

The Titans are ranked higher than the Miami Dolphins, New York Jets, Arizona Cardinals, and the Cleveland Browns, all of which seem fair after the major roster overhaul. However, one could argue that teams such as the New Orleans Saints, New York Giants, Las Vegas Raiders, and Atlanta Falcons should be ranked lower than the Tennessee franchise.
With that being said, it is safe to say that this is a bit of a low ranking for the Titans after all of their offseason work. After completely changing the face of the franchise and the depth that comes with it, the Titans deserve some more respect.
