The Arizona Cardinals traded away a former top-five pick Sunday and lost by 24 points the same afternoon. The Marvin Harrison Jr. trade to Houston came together while the Detroit Lions were rolling to a 45-21 win at State Farm Stadium, and Arizona’s 1-4 start now has it at No. 7 in Tankathon’s 2027 NFL Draft order.
Four teams are 1-4, and Arizona has played the toughest schedule of the group at .549, so it slots last among them, behind Houston, Tampa Bay and New Orleans. The Harrison deal also brought back 2027 second- and seventh-round picks, with Arizona sending its 2027 sixth-rounder to Houston, according to the team. That gives Arizona two second-rounders to go with its first. Here’s every 2027 pick the Cardinals hold after the trade.

How the Cardinals got to 1-4
The season opened with a 26-14 win over the Chargers in Los Angeles. It’s been all downhill since. Seattle won 31-7 in Week 2, San Francisco held on 36-30, and the Giants won 36-24 in Week 4 when Deonte Banks returned an interception 98 yards for a touchdown on the final play after Arizona had driven to the New York 4.
Sunday got away fast. Arizona led 7-0 on a Teagan Quitoriano touchdown, then Detroit scored on seven straight possessions, six of them touchdowns. Jahmyr Gibbs ran for 151 yards, while the Cardinals managed a season-low 56 on the ground. Jacoby Brissett threw for 292 yards and three touchdown passes in a game that was over by halftime. The Cardinals have allowed 162 points, at least 31 in every loss.
“Jacoby was not the problem, the problem was the team today. That starts with me,” head coach Mike LaFleur said after the game. On Monday, he ruled out play-calling changes but said the staff is “looking at how to improve this defense.”
Why No. 7 could keep climbing
Nothing about the next 12 games suggests a turnaround is coming. Arizona’s remaining opponents carry a .535 winning percentage, the sixth-hardest remaining schedule in the NFL. The Rams twice, Seattle, Kansas City, Philadelphia and San Francisco are all still ahead, starting Sunday at SoFi Stadium.
That’s how a quarterback becomes the conversation. Luke Easterling’s latest 2027 mock draft sends Oregon quarterback Dante Moore to Arizona at No. 9. Easterling wrote that Brissett “won’t keep them from using this pick on their new franchise quarterback.” The case for Moore in the desert only gets stronger if the Cardinals keep sliding toward the top five.
Arizona already has the extra pick to move up if it needs to. What it doesn’t have yet is a home win this season.
