Real-time reactions among Golden State Warriors players and fans concerning Moses Moody's injury were dispirited. The shooting guard had just returned for a team desperate for a win when he was injured in the dying moments of their victory over the Dallas Mavericks.
Teammate Brandin Podziemski said postgame that it felt like they were reliving the injury Jimmy Butler suffered back in January. Butler, the team's next star alongside Stephen Curry, suffered a season-ending ACL injury against his former team, the Miami Heat.
The Warriors camp were in a state of shock. The entire American Airlines Center went silent.
Moody, who made the biggest impact on the game with a game-high 23 points, still tried his best to keep his teammates' spirits up.

According to veteran forward Draymond Green, the 23-year-old guard insisted on walking on his own. The doctors eventually prevented him, as they thought it would not be advisable. They used a stretcher to carry him off the court.
"We all thought he slipped," Green said on his self-titled podcast.
"I'm just standing there looking at Moses, and initially he asked to get up. He was like, 'They can let me walk, I'm good, I can walk,' and the doctor goes, 'Nah man, he can't, it's his patellar,' and I was like, 'Whoa.'"
Green then went on to express how big of a loss Moody is for the team.
"It's brutal," he said. "We've been waiting for him to get back healthy. Moses is a guy who does everything right."
The medical team confirmed that he suffered a left patellar tendon tear and will not return this season. His injury is another blow to the Warriors' frustrating 2025–26 season. Curry has been out since Jan. 30, and the Warriors have fallen to No. 10 in the Western Conference standings.
