After pulling out a 24-22 victory over the Washington Commanders in Week 1, Jalen Hurts and the Philadelphia Eagles will travel to Tennessee to take on the Titans in the second week of the season.
Hurts threw for 203 yards and three touchdowns against Washington with no turnovers, and he’ll aim for similar success in Tennessee. Let’s look at how he’s performed against the Titans over the course of his career.
Jalen Hurts Has 1-0 Career Record Against Tennessee Titans
Hurts is in his sixth season as a starter for Philadelphia, but he’s actually only played against the Titans once in his career, and it was nearly four years ago. That game was a 35-10 Eagles victory on December 4, 2022.
In his lone game against Tennessee, Hurts threw for 380 yards and three touchdowns. He also added a rushing score, bringing his TD total to four for the game. It was an impressive performance, and one that he’ll hope to replicate on Sunday.
Eagles Have 2-5 All-Time Record Against Titans
While Hurts fared well against the Titans in his lone meeting against them, the same can’t necessarily be said about the Eagles as a team. Since the Houston Oilers became the Tennessee Titans in 1999, the Eagles have played against them seven times, and they’ve been victorious just twice.
The Eagles won the last meeting between the teams in 2022, and they came out on top when the two teams met in November of 2014. The other five meetings all resulted in a loss for Philly. The Birds will look to improve their all-time mark against the Titans to 3-5 with a win this weekend.
