Davies is a Canadian international but is ethnically Liberian.
Born on November 2, 2000, in the Buduburam Refugee Camp in Ghana, he was born to parents who escaped the Second Liberian Civil War. His parents, Debeah Davies and Victoria Davies, like thousands of other Liberian families, fled to safety outside their country. They were finally granted refugee status in Canada.

When Davies was five years old, the family settled in Edmonton, Alberta, where he first discovered organized soccer. His exceptional talent was soon evident, moving through local youth teams to the Vancouver Whitecaps academy.
