Unlike the group stage, however, there is no room for sharing the points. If England and Argentina cannot be separated after 90 minutes, the match will continue until one nation emerges victorious. However, the tournament does not end even if the match is tied.

What Happens if England Draws Against Argentina?
If the game is drawn at the end of regulation, neither team is eliminated.
Rather, FIFA's knockout rules call for the game to proceed to 30 minutes of extratime, divided into two 15-minute halves.
After 120 minutes, if there is still a tie, the semifinal will be settled by a penalty shootout. The loser is eliminated, and the winner goes to the finals.
What Happens if England Loses Against Argentina?
England's World Cup run would come to an end with any defeat, in regulation time, extra time, or on penalties.
If England loses, they will not go home yet. There will be a third-place match with France that the Three Lions would have to play.
