Tonight is the beginning of matchweek 3 of the 2026 World Cup, when teams will be confirmed to either reach the knockout stage or be eliminated from the competition.

Brazil is one of the teams in pole position to reach the knockout stages, but that has not yet been confirmed. Brazil is in Group C with Morocco, Haiti, and Scotland.

In the previous matchday, Brazil defeated Haiti 3-0 at the Philadelphia Stadium and currently sit first in the group with four points with a +3 goal difference.

Morocco is second with four points with a +1 goal difference, followed by Scotland in third with three points with a 0 goal difference. Haiti is at the bottom of Group C with zero points and a -4 goal difference; they have been eliminated from the competition.

Possible Brazil Results vs Scotland

Brazil is a win or a draw away from securing the knockout stage, and they would finish in the top two if they don't lose.

Brazil can win the group by beating Scotland and winning by a lot of goals; the key is to have a higher goal difference than Morocco, which is only two goals away from reaching them.

A draw also secures Brazil's knockout stage football, but they are at risk of not topping the group, as Morocco is likely to beat Haiti. Finishing second, could see Brazil play the top of Group F, which is likely the Netherlands or Japan.

If Brazil loses to Scotland, Brazil will finish third in the group. It would not mean they are knocked out of the competition, as the 2026 World Cup introduced third-place teams advancing to the next round.

The key is that the 8 best third-place teams of 12 groups advance. Brazil would finish on four points in third if they lose to Scotland and have a slight chance at being among the best 8 third place teams.
