DJ Moore was officially inactive for the Buffalo Bills’ Monday Night Football matchup against the Los Angeles Rams on October 12, leaving Buffalo without one of its leading receiving options for a road game against a 2-2 opponent. The Bills confirmed Moore’s absence on their final inactive list before kickoff.

Moore joined Buffalo from the Chicago Bears during the offseason and had appeared in each of the team’s first four games. He has recorded 12 receptions for 178 yards and one touchdown, including a 100-yard performance in the season opener against Houston.

DJ Moore Is Dealing With a Shoulder Injury

Moore was sidelined by a recurring injury to his left shoulder. He missed Buffalo’s Thursday and Friday practices before returning for a limited session on Saturday. Although the Bills initially listed him as questionable, the team ultimately ruled him inactive before kickoff.

The injury flared up during the second quarter of Buffalo’s 29-26 loss to the New England Patriots in Week 4. It was the second time Moore had injured his left shoulder during the 2026 season. He finished that game with one reception for 11 yards and one carry for six yards.

With Moore and WR Joshua Palmer out, the Bills elevated wide receiver Trent Sherfield Sr. from their practice squad before the game.

When Will DJ Moore Return?

The Bills have not announced a specific return date for Moore. His availability for Week 6 against the Las Vegas Raiders will depend on how his shoulder responds and whether he can resume practice.

His participation in practice this week will determine his availability. Until Buffalo issues another update, there is no confirmation that Moore will be fit to face the Las Vegas Raiders.
