The Tennessee Titans played in their first preseason game of the offseason, taking on the San Francisco 49ers inside Levi's Stadium.
The starters played for the Titans on Thursday, although it was only for a handful of drives. This includes the Titans' star of the franchise, who is their young gunslinger, Cam Ward, who was selected with the No. 1 pick of the 2025 NFL Draft. Fans were hopeful he would have a massive game, but did he? Here is how the gunslinger did on the night.
Cam Ward's Night vs. San Francisco 49ers

Cam Ward started the night at his own four-yard-line. He held his own, as he converted on third down multiple times during the first drive. He finished the drive, helping his team get into the end zone, as Tony Pollard scored first. During the drive, the biggest throw went to Calvin Ridley on a catch that was worth around 18 yards. He also hit Gunnar Helm on a slip screen, which was good enough for 16 yards. He didn't take a single sack on the first drive, which was a positive sign for Titans fans and a great sign for what Brian Daboll is cooking up as the offensive coordinator.
Ward would come back out for his second drive with the team. Early on in the drive, the talented quarterback got caught with intentional grounding, which would move the team back. This may seem like a red flag, but this is something he will need to do to avoid taking sacks. This was great in my opinion. This would ultimately lead to the Titans never being able to move the chains despite seeing him connect with slot receiver Wan'Dale Robinson.
Ward got a third drive. He was sacked early on the drive, but it was reversed, as there was a holding call on the defensive side of the ball. Ward attempted passes to Elic Ayomanor, Carnell Tate, and Wan'Dale Robinson, but couldn't connect early. A third-down opportunity would come up for Ward, but he threw a questionable pass that was nearly intercepted by Ashton Davis. This was the worst drive by Ward, in my opinion.
This was the end of his night, as he finished the event 5-of-12, while also finishing with 57 yards on the night.
